Sub-module: Witnesses and victims in criminal proceedings, first session - Victims in the general sense and as parties in a criminal procedure

On September 27, 2023, the Academy of Justice within the Initial Training Program for the newly appointed judges of the tenth generation, is carrying out the theoretical training under the module "Witnesses and victims in the criminal procedure" with trainer Mr. Valon Kurtaj, judge at the Basic Court in Pristina-Special Department.

This training session elaborated on the following: The rights of the injured party during the investigation and judicial review phase, the notification - reporting of the case to the criminal prosecution bodies, the active participation of the injured party in the investigation and judicial review, the rights of the injured party in compensation for damage and the rights of the injured party after the conclusion of the judicial review (the right to appeal).

The training methodology is interactive discussions method followed with practical cases.

Beneficiaries of the training are 29 newly appointed judges including one member from the Bosnian community and one from the Turkish community.
